About Julie Graham
Julie Graham is a Certified Health Coach, a 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Positive Psychology Practitioner and is certified in Meditation and Aromatherapy.
For over 20 years, Julie has been at the forefront of health and wellness. She is co-founder of FRESH Med NYC and Fare Wellness with her husband, Dr. Robert Graham where together they have established a yoga/meditation program, a culinary medicine program, and “Victory Greens” an urban rooftop farm at Lenox Hill Hospital. In 2016, they created the FRESH "Pro-Graham” an integrative approach to health that focuses on: Food, Relaxation, Exercise, Sleep and Happiness for ultimate well-being.
Julie began her career as a weight loss counselor for two large corporations and later worked as a Corporate Trainer for Dr. Atkins. She realized different “diets” worked for different people, and this inspired her to become a Certified Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). There, she learned over 100 dietary theories from nutrition specialists including, Drs. Andrew Weil, Deepak Chopra, Walter Willett and Mark Hyman, just to name a few. Julie follows the mantra, “Let food be thy medicine….”
In 2000, Julie began her yoga practice and has been on her mat ever since. In 2005, she became a 200-hour yoga teacher and subsequently an advanced 300-Hour teacher from the renowned YogaWorks school. She has developed multiple yoga and meditation programs for non-profits, large corporations, like NBC and Telemundo, and currently teaches at yoga studios and for private clients in NYC.
After witnessing the power of the Relaxation Response, Julie completed course-work in Mind/Body Medicine and Meditation from Dr. Herbert Benson, the physician who discovered the Relaxation Response. Using simple breathing techniques, Julie learned how to cultivate more mindfulness into her daily life and helps her clients do the same.
Positive Psychology is the scientific study of human flourishing. Julie has a BA in Psychology, and in 2014 she received her Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology. Julie helps people figure out and focus on their strengths for long-lasting change. Julie has been using essential oils for years and wanted to learn more about their profound healing properties. She earned a certification from the New York Institute of Aromatherapy where she studied the holistic science and healing art of essential oils. Using these powerful plant-based, herbal remedies, Julie creates custom blends in the form of massage oils, salts, inhalers and sprays for stress-related conditions, hormonal imbalances and for physical ailments like respiratory issues or aches and pains.
Julie weaves together the fields of Nutrition, Yoga philosophy, Meditation, Positive Psychology and Aromatherapy into one easy and concise FRESH “Pro-Graham" and tailors it to meet her clients' individual needs. She offers a more holistic approach to support the whole person: body, mind and spirit.
